How do I get involved?
Become a PTA Member OAE PTA meets on the second Wednesday of each month, 7:00 PM, at Fiesta Guadalajara Restaurant in Grand Junction. Children are welcome to come along. Attending meetings are not mandatory to being part of PTA. A considerable amount of our planning is through text messaging and email. Simply go to our Contact Page to get involved. OAE PTA always welcomes new members and we are excited for you to join.
Become a PTA Board Member OAE PTA is always recruiting new board members. Board members play an important role, providing leadership and oversight for PTA activities. We are currently in need of a PTA President, Vice-President, and Secretary. Please let us know if you'd like to fill any of these roles! Our current members are happy to help guide you.
Volunteer at Events OAE PTA hosts many events for our students and their families throughout the school year. At least once a month! These events require the help of many volunteers. Following our Facebook page is a great way to know when we need volunteers for Fall Family Festival, Bubble Run, Spring Picnic, Donuts with your Grown-up, and many more!
Sponsor Event sponsoring is incredibly helpful, keeping activities free and by supporting our school. Our sponsors are recognized at our events and promotional material. (Examples: Timberline Bank donated $250 to our 2024 Spring Picnic. Their logo was featured on our fliers and throughout the event. The Hodges family generously paid for Bounce Houses for 2023 Spring Picnic.)
Is it okay if I only help a little bit?
Yes. Every PTA member is raising child(ren). We know life gets hectic. Many PTA members also have full-time jobs or are involved in other organizations. We appreciate all the help you're able to give. Volunteer at an event, bring something for a Teacher Appreciation Lunch, make a flier, bake a cake for Spring Picnic Cake Walk. Every bit helps!
Why be involved in PTA?
Being a member of PTA means you are part of a powerful association focused on initiatives that strengthen your child's education. Families that are engaged in their children's potential help them achieve success in school, develop social and emotional skills, and improve their mental and physical well-being. They're more likely to have high self-esteem, greater motivation, and increased confidence in their abilities.
